Born in: Sherbrooke, Quebec
Resided in: South Portland, Maine

Doris M. Sevigny (Bolduc), 86, of South Portland, ME, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Winship Green Center in Bath, ME.

Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on January 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Oliva and Marie (Aube) Bolduc of Sherbrooke, Quebec. She met her future husband, Donald Sevigny in 1962, the two becoming inseparable, eventually marrying on November 7, 1964. Doris spent the majority of her life in Gardner, MA before moving to Fitchburg, MA in 1996, and eventually moving to Maine in 2003.

Upon arriving to the United States from Canada, she learned to read and write English on her own. She would go on to work as a nanny, a furniture manufacturer with S. Bent, Gem Crib, Harrington & Richardson, and Fontaine Brothers. She volunteered in the library at Sacred Heart School, where her sons attended. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and provided personal care to seniors as a home health aide in and around Gardner, until she retired.

Doris enjoyed flea markets and was proud of her antique glass collection. She loved all animals and cared deeply for her numerous pets throughout her life. She was a supporter of St. Scholastica Priory in Petersham, MA and kept correspondence with several of the Benedictine Sisters there throughout their lives. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and Patriots. Doris enjoyed many trips to visit family in Canada, where the majority of her family resided. She was always prideful in her appearance and literal in always looking her Sunday best. Never a day passed without her reading her numerous prayer books, constantly praying for everyone around her. She was selfless, caring, compassionate, and had a wonderful sense of humor and benevolent spirit.

She is predeceased by her husband, Donald; parents, Oliva and Marie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Gilberte; daughter-in-law, Jodi; siblings, Therese, Alfred, Maurice, Simone, Cecile, Denise, Jean-Guy, Jean-Oliva, Conrad and Paul; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by a daughter, Line and her husband Denis of Gatineau, Quebec; two sons, Lionel of Manchester, NH (predeceased by his wife Jodi) and John and his wife, Sue Ellen of South Portland, ME; one grandson, Michael and his wife, Emily and their children Harvey Ellen & Mickey of Hollis, ME; two granddaughters, Veronik and her life partner, Eric and their son Liam b. of Val-des-Monts, Quebec, and Lorie and her life partner Yohann of Gatineau, Quebec; three sisters, Geraldine and her husband Fernand of Montreal, Blandine and her husband Gilles of Sherbrooke and Marielle and her husband Gilbert of Sherbrooke; two sisters-in-law, Suzanne (wife of Jean-Oliva) of Saint John, New Brunswick and Sandra (wife of Conrad) of Sherbrooke; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
