She was born on February 9, 1932 to the late Alex and Rose ( Rouleau ) Fortier.
In 1957 she married the love of her life, Albert Dion. Doris and Albert spent most of their
lives living in Sanford raising their four children. Doris was the ultimate caretaker, and
truly enjoyed caring for her family. She taught us to live each day with confidence and
gratitude. She spent her days filled with great love for others. There was nothing she
loved more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren, who were the center of her life.
Doris was a devout Catholic who practiced her faith daily and taught others to trust the
power of prayer. She was a true angel who loved others deeply and all who knew her
loved her as well.
Doris loved reading, cooking, spending time at the beach, lake, and winters in St.
Petersburg, Florida.
She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Albert Dion, her sister Sr. Therese
Fortier, brothers Leo, Rene, and Patrick Fortier.
She is survived by her brothers Philip and Robert Fortier, her four children and their
spouses Patricia and Stephen Desrochers, Linda and Ken Lawrence, Donna and Derrill
Savage, and Patrick Dion. She also is survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great
grandchildren.
