Doris G. Daney
Doris G. Daney, 85, of Waterboro, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Newton Center in Sanford. Born on February 28, 1922 in Waterboro, she was the daughter of Forrest and Grace (Nason) Laskey. She attended and graduated from Waterboro High School. On March 29, 1946 she married Milton L. Daney in Ellsworth.For many years Mrs. Daney was employed in various dress shops in Sanford and Springvale. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Fern Chapter in Alfred, a 50-year member of the Waterboro Grange, a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Waterboro, and a member of the Blaisdell Memorial Church in Waterboro.Mrs. Daney enjoyed snowmobiling, knitting and camping. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who fondly referred to her as "Big Gram".She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Milton L. Daney who passed away on September 24, 2006, and a brother, Frank Laskey. Doris is survived by three daughters, Carol A. MacDonald and her husband, Douglas of Wilmont, NH, Dianne Holden and her husband, Donald of Waterboro, Nancy Brandt and her husband, Richard, of Waterboro, one sister, Mildred Hooper of Shapleigh, seven grandchildren, Kristine Holden, Kerry MacDonald, Dustin Holden, Melissa Daigneault, Darcy Cook, Amy Lucarelli, Andrew MacDonald and six great grandchildren.Visiting hours for Mrs. Daney will be held on Wednesday, December 19th from 1 to 3pm with the funeral being at 3pm with Pastor Charles Storey officiating, at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. Burial will be in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in South Waterboro.Memorial contributions may be made to Goodall Elder Care Pavilion Activities Program, 35 July Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.
