On December 12, 2017 Doris Edrie Cote, 80 was called home by the Lord, surrounded by her family at home.Born in Alfred, Maine on September 23, 1937, she was the daughter of Edna Harris. She attended and graduated from Sanford High School in Sanford, Maine.She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish in Sanford, Maine. She enjoyed traveling, the beach, bingo and the occasional trip to Foxwoods. She will be remembered for her devoted love of her family and her wonderful sense of humor.She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roland E. Cote of Sanford, Maine; her brothers, Carrol Hill and wife Bee of Sanford, Maine and Stanley Hill and wife Patricia of Sanford, Maine; her sisters, Susan Creteau and husband Russ of Shapleigh, Maine and Sandra Murley of North Berwick, Maine; her sons, Michael Demers of Sanford, Maine, Bryan Cote and wife Karen of Lebanon, Maine and Jayson Cote of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; her daughter, Jean Cote of Huntersville, North Carolina; her step-sons, David Cote and wife Julie of Kennebunk, Maine and Peter Cote and wife Lori of Somerville, Massachusetts; her step-daughters Christine Cote of Sanford, Maine and Angela Levasseur and husband Norman of Westbrook, Maine; her grandchildren Tonya Sorti, Kristina Gurley, Heather Lonegan, Brigitte Knight, Isabella Demers, Sabrina Cote, Crystal Cote, Arlen Demers, Jessica Levasseur, Angelie Cote, Joshua Cote, Derek Cote, Kathleen Cote and several great grandchildren.She is predeceased by her mother Edna Harris; her brothers, Carl and Norman Harris; her son, Alan Demers and her daughter, Judy Demers.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located at 66 North Avenue Sanford, Maine.In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution in her name to your favorite cancer charity.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
