Donna Johnson

Donna Nadine Johnson, age 89, passed on peacefully on January 2, 2022. Donna was born on April 14, 1932 in Milwaukee, Oregon to Oliver and Gertrude Lucas. She was married to Elbridge Sawyer Johnson, Jr.(Bud) of Lexington, Massachusetts for 50 years. They had three children: Jeffrey Dane Johnson (deceased) married to Debby Breland Johnson Matthews, Garth Joel Johnson (deceased) married to Cindy Wiens Johnson and Marla Jeanne Johnson Saunders married to David Saunders. She is survived by her seven precious grandchildren: Jenee Nichols, Jordan Johnson, Heather Vataha, Grant Johnson, Courtney Hughes, Kylie Kelly and Jillian Saunders. And their legacy continues with fifteen great grandchildren and counting! Donna is also survived by her brother, David Lucas of Oregon City, Oregon. Donna was known for her gracious spirit and her passion for music. She was an accomplished singer, and spent many years singing in choirs, quartets and solos for her various churches and organizations. She was also an exquisite decorator, and spent many years decorating not only her lovely homes and the family business apartment buildings, but also helping with other people's decorating projects. Her touch brought beauty and order to everything. In her later years Donna took great pleasure in riding her bright pink golf cart around Dowling Park and going on excursions in town with her beloved caretakers Suzan Morgan and Rachel Smith. She loved every baby she saw, and would start many conversations with young parents as she admired their children. And even though she spent most of her life on the east coast, Donna never lost her love for her Oregon home and her family there. She made certain that her east coast family and her west coast family spent many happy vacations together. Donna's love for her Lord Jesus Christ, her certain hope of resurrection in Christ and a secure eternal future and her strength of character as she walked through life will always be remembered, cherished and emulated by her family and friends. She was truly a gracious and beautiful woman, inside and out. Services for Donna will be held in the spring of 2022.
