Donald G. Martineau

Donald G. Martineau, 84, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away on Monday June 17, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab in Kennebunk. He was born in Sanford on August 31, 1928 a son of the late John and Aurore (Therrien) Martineau.He attended local schools and then served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952. On June 23, 1956 he married Doris Desrochers in Sanford. Together they shared 57 years togetherBesides his wife, he is survived by his four daughters, Lorina Brewer and her husband, Steve of Gilbert AZ, Gail Tanguay and her husband, Gary of Sanford,ME, Carol McKeage and her husband, John of Lisbon, ME, Brenda Eastman and her husband, Walter of Minot, ME, 11 grandchildren, Tricia, Dianna, Becky, Jonathan, Stephen, Ian, Kelsey, Kyle, Christine, Renee, Konnor, three great grandchildren, Emma, Bella, Jocelyn, his sister, Marlene Lavalley as well as several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 1PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
