Donald Eastman

Donald W. Eastman, 89, of Springvale, passed away on Friday November 24, 2006 at the Varney Crossing Nursing Home in North Berwick. He was born in Fryeburg, Maine on March 14, 1917, a son of Fred and Myrtle ( Ballard) Eastman.He graduated from Fryeburg Academy. He then served his country during WWII in the US Army. For many years he had been employed by Charles Brown & Sons as a cabinet maker. He retired from CYRO Industries after many years of service.He was a lifetime member of the Springvale Masonic Lodge #190 AF & AM where he had served as Past Master. He was also a member of the Pioneer Scottish Rite Club as well as the York Pomona Grange #14. He also served as a volunteer Fireman for the Springvale Fire Department until the age of 65 years old. For many years he enjoyed golfing and hunting.He is predeceased by his wife, Esther (Hutchins) Eastman, one son, Robert Eastman, one daughter, Norma Beaudet. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Waddington of Edgewater, MD, one sister, Louise Edson of Attleboro, MA, 10 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.A Graveside service will be held on Saturday December 2nd at 11am at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Fryeburg.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Foundation 10 Bangor Street, Suite F, Augusta, Maine 04330.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the condolence tab to the left.
