Resided in: Limington, ME

Donald M. Bourassa, 65, of Limington, passed away on Monday, February 28th at his home. He was born on July 3, 1956 in Sanford, a son of the late Eugene and Cecile (Boutin) Bourassa. He graduated from Sanford High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served his country for 20 years. He built a home himself on Little Sebago in the mid-eighties and then moved to his farm in 1997.He was independent first and foremost, was a craftsman, and a man with a weakness for animals. He enjoyed trying to raise atypical animals such as peacocks, llamas and rarer types of chickens. He was a knowledgeable man who always wanted to learn more, always had a project or 10 going and was always trying to learn a new craft. He really loved his home and growing things on the farm. He loved listening to music and sitting on his front porch telling stories. He was a kind man. He believed in helping when you could and, most important, he was a great friend. He is predeceased by his parents as well as his brothers, Richard and Paul Bourassa. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Claire Bourassa, his niece and nephew, Rebecca McCann and Jeff Bourassa, great-nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.A celebration of life will be held late spring/ early summer.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
