Diane Catherine Humphreys
CONWAY, NH - Diane Catherine Humphreys, 51, of Haynesville Ave, lost her battle with the Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus and died peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Gosnell Hospice House with her loving family by her side. Diane was born in Cranston, Rhode Island the daughter of Bruce W. and Ann E. Little Humphreys. She attended local schools and graduated from East Providence High School in the class of 1980. Diane worked for many years in the accounting division for a Mental Health Agency. Most recently she was working in customer service for the Attitash Ski Resort. On May 24, 2008 she married Philip K. Pierce. Diane loved the outdoors, together, she and Philip spent many hours hiking the trails of New Hampshire, always watching for wildlife on their journeys. She had a great love for animals especially her two dogs. Diane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Diane was predeceased by a brother Donald B. Humphreys. Besides her husband and parents, Diane is survived by her two daughters Jennifer Blackmar of Washington, DC and Jillian Beaulieu of Conway, NH; one son James Blackmar and his wife Suzanne of Riverside, RI; one stepson Zachary Pierce; one sister Lynne Petrone of Rehobeth, MA; one brother Scott Humphreys of Puyallup, WA; one granddaughter Dalilah Blackmar and two grandsons Tyler and Jason. Diane has six nieces and nephews. At the family's request all services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME. Although I did not know Diane personally, I feel she was a very loving very caring person. Although there is no real consolation in losing a loved one, Diane’s parting has brought awareness to the community and saved lives. Thats tremendous.
