Diana H. Poisson

Diana H. Poisson, 98, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mrs. Poisson was born in Sanford on January 4, 1911 to Edmond and Eva Gouin Hamel and attended local schools. In 1933 she married Emile Poisson and together they raised four children. She was a very hard working woman and was employed in the Sanford Mills, Universal Shoe Company and then at Brooks Woolen Mill where she retired in 1976 at the age of 65. Mrs. Poisson was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford/Springvale. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and reading. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Mrs. Poisson was predeceased by her husband, Emile Poisson.Surviving are four sons, Joseph Donald Poisson and his wife Jeannine of Springvale, Emile Poisson Jr. and his wife Carol of Springvale, Philip Poisson and his wife Edwina of Sanford and Leon Poisson and his wife Terry of Sanford; two sisters, Sr. Rita Hamel of Canada and Doris Boudreau of Connecticut; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 3rd at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 4th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
