SANFORD David M. Jones 59 died Thursday morning at his home where he wanted to be surrounded by his family. Dave was born in Rochester, NH Dec. 9, 1947 the son of Moulton R. & Rita (Blanchard) Jones. He grew up in Lebanon and attended school there, his family later moved to Sanford where he finished school and graduated from Sanford High in 1966. He later enlisted in the Army in October of 1966 and was honorably discharged in October of 1969. For the past 32 years he was employed by the Baker Co., as a welder and retired from there in February of 2006 due to ill health.David truly loved nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed hiking regularly and was a member of the 4000 Footer Club of the White Mountains. If he wasn't climbing, he was walking somewhere. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. He spent countless hours tending to his flower and vegetable gardens.He took great pride in his home and yard. Dave spent most of his time hanging out in the backyard playing with his grandchildren. It came easy to him, because he really was a kid at heart.He was predeceased by his dad Merle Ricker in 1995.Survivors are his wife of 36 years, Nancy (Shaw) Jones of Sanford, his two daughters, Sandy Davis and her husband Raymond of Sanford, and Christine Hubert and her husband Phil of Lebanon. Grandchildren Jeremy Hubert, Joshua & Bryan Gagnon, Kaitlin Littlefield, Morgan, Haley & Lauren Davis. His mother, Rita Ricker of Sanford, his father Moulton Jones of Gonic, NH . Three brothers, Jerry Ricker of Colorado, Jim Ricker of Sanford, and Leslie Ricker of Springvale. Four sisters, Patricia Weymouth and her husband Lewis, Kathy Carlton and her husband John and Linda Briggs and her husband Alan all of Shapleigh and Marilyn Bolduc of Sanford.In lieu of Flowers, David would like donations in his memory to the Trafton Senior Citizen Center P.O. Box 249 Sanford, METhank you from the family of David for helping us to care for him at home. Doctors, Nurses, Critical Care Systems.
