On February 27, 2017, David M. Cann began his new journey, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. The food will be delicious and the taps flowing with golden ales. Season tickets for all Red Sox and Patriots games are included.David was born in May of 1957 in Beverly, Massachusetts, the son of Helen (Lander) and Lawrence Cann. He spent 43 years in a wheelchair due to an accident during wrestling practice at Sanford High School. He went on to graduate from Husson College with a degree in business. He was employed as a customer service representative for L.L. Bean and Time Warner Cable during his working life. He lived independently in San Diego, California and in Portland, Maine for over 37 years.David always had a friend or a dozen to keep his company. He also had a hand in helping the City of Portland become more handicapped accessible. Visits to the lake house in Sanford, the family homestead and having reunions as often as possible with family and friends were the highlights of David's life. For the past 17 months David resided at Greenwood Center where he received excellent care.Surviving are his two loving brothers, Keith J. Cann and his wife Elaine and Brian L. Cann; nieces, nephews, aunties, uncle, cousins and many good friends. David will always be remembered and forever be in their hearts. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
