David Reinhold Anderson, 85, formerly of Sanford, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, November 30, at Carrington Place Assisted Living and Long Term Care in Wytheville, Virginia.Dave was born on July 28, 1935 to Reinhold and Mildred (Luchenbach) Anderson in Deerfield, New Hampshire. Mildred left the family early on in Dave's childhood but he was lovingly brought up by Reinhold and Doris (Tochie) Anderson. He attended schools in Deerfield and graduated from Manchester Central High School. He would love to tell people that he went from the smallest school in the state to the largest high school in the state!Dave married Dorothy Blake and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy from March 1954-January 1958 in Japan as a Cryptologist. He then began his long career with Sprague Electric Company working his way up to Plant Manager. He obtained his BS in Business Administration at the University of New Hampshire. Following the closure of Sprague, he worked for Findley Corporation, and Peterbilt. Dave was such a personable guy, delivering wholesale flowers to florists was a perfect last job to finish out his working career.Two of Dave's mottos were "whenever possible, have dessert first" and "breakfast is the best meal of the day".Dave is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Eleanor Bowden of Bridgewater, Massachusetts.Survivors include his four daughters, Deborah Ward and her husband Steven of Titusville, Florida; Darlene Normand of Sanford; Donna Anderson of Sanford; and Diana Rutherford and her husband Daniel of Acton; his three grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson, David Ward, and Nicole Normand and two great grandchildren: Noelle Wilson and Claire Wilson; his former wife, Dorothy Anderson Fortier of Springvale, and his current wife, Margaret Carol Anderson of Cana, Virginia.Due to COVID, a graveside service will be held at a later date at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.
