LIMERICK, MAINE—Darrel C. Cadett, 66, of Limerick, died Sunday April 27, 2025 at his home.
He was born February 18, 1959 in Stoney Creek, Connecticut, the son of Henry Cadett, Sr. and Betty (Johnson) Cadett. Darrel grew up in Branford and Wallingford, Connecticut. He loved farm tractors and growing up on a farm and working with his uncle. He worked at several jobs, over the years before becoming a truck driver. He worked for Fed Ex in Connecticut and Florida, Trucks, Inc and eventually for A. Duie Pyle. Darrel married the love of his life, Pamela (Hatt) “PJ” on June 1, 2019 and they moved to Maine in 2020 as he continued to work for Pyle. He became ill and was no longer able to drive.
In his off time, Darrel enjoyed fishing, gardening and helping at the Apple Valley Campground where he and Pam were seasonal campers. He was always known as a hard-working man, often taking second jobs just because he loved to work. He worked for many years handling and selling used pallets, a job he enjoyed very much. All that met Darrel loved him and saw the dedication, passion for his work and the love he had for Pamela whom he introduced to them, “This is my beautiful wife Pamela, the love of my life.”

  3. Some of my favorite memories with Darrel was one picking his nickname DC. It stuck with him through out our family since he reunited with my mother Pamela. Also while I still lived with my mother and Dc, Dc planned a surprise Ice cream night out with my now husband, and it was so much fun! We all climbed into my mothers car, and didnt know where we were going till he drove us to a ice cream shop for a surprise yummy treat. And finally on my wedding day when he ask to cut in to slow dance with me. Thank you Dc for looking after us all and my mom! Dc I thank you for loving my mother so beautifully. I know your looking down over her now. You will be missed. Rest in Peace. 🙏💓
