Daniel Jourdain

Daniel J. Jourdain, 56 years old, of Sanford, ME died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at his home.Dan was born in Sanford on November 1, 1950. He was the son of Laurent and Rita (Grondin) Jourdain. He is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School, and worked as a self-employed contractor for many years.Dan loved to be outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, working in the garden, or playing with his family; outside was the place to be for Dan. He was a highly skilled craftsman, and enjoyed helping others with his trade. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and the occasional trip to Foxwoods.Predeceasing Dan was his father Laurent.Surviving are his mother Rita Jourdain of Sanford, his wife of over ten years, Catherine "Cathy" (Lahue) Jourdain of Sanford; two daughters, Dawn LaChapelle, and Samantha Lahue both of Sanford; three sons, Joseph Jourdain, Ryan Jourdain, and Steven Jourdain, all of Sanford, a sister Linda Love of Waterboro and five grandchildren.An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated this Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at St. Ignatius Church, St. Therese Parish of Sanford, ME.For those that desire, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's honor to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 87 Elm St., Camden, ME 04843.
