Daniel "Huey" E. Huard, 73, of Sanford passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at The Lodges Care Center in Springvale.He was born on July 31, 1945 to Emile and Donalda (Vachon) Huard in Sanford, where he grew up and attended local schools. He resided in Sanford and Bradenton FL, throughout his years. Danny served for a time in the U.S. Army.During his working life, he was employed in local mills, at the Hitching Post repairing snowmobiles, and Gorman Tank Painting. Huey could fix anything with an engine, and opened his own motorcycle shop, Dan's Sports Shop on River St. in Sanford, which he ran for many years. Danny loved motorcycles, cars, and NASCAR racing. He also had an amazing ability to repair engine problems that others could not. It wasn't unusual to see his friends' motorcycles and parts strewn around his yard and engines on his kitchen table. He would work diligently to get everyone back on the road. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 28, at 1:00 P.M. at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.Danny is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Paul Huard and Raymond Huard, and an infant daughter Kelly Sue Huard.Survivors include a son, Eric Huard and his long time companion Tammy-Lynn Chase, of Lyman, two daughters, Lori Stone and her husband Kevin, of Lebanon, and Cathy Liscomb and her husband James of Kennebunk, two granddaughters, Krystal Stone, of Portland, and Kayla Stone and her fiance Jason McLean of North Berwick, a great granddaughter, Audrey Arseneault, a sister Maggie Goodwin, of Alfred, and many nieces and nephews.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click tab at left.
