Daisy A. Leavitt

Pastor Daisy A. Leavitt, 93, of Arundel, died at home on September 7 after a lengthy illness.She was born in Hollis on August 10, 1917, a daughter of Walter and Matilda (Ham) Leavitt and attended Hollis schools.For more than 20 years, she was employed with Kesslen Shoe in Kennebunk.In the early 1970's she felt a calling to preach God's word and in 1972 she founded and built the Bethel Full Gospel Assembly on Route 1 in Arundel and preached there for more than 35 years, retiring several years ago and due to ill health.She is survived by several nieces, nephews and by many friends.A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 2:00 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Waterboro.
