Curtis J. Johnson, 25, of Sanford, died unexpectedly on December 28 in Westbrook.He was born in Sanford on September 15, 1983, a son of Alan B. Johnson and Jill A. Brooks. He attended Sanford schools and was a 2001 graduate of Sanford High School, where he played clarinet in the band.For Curtis, it was all about sports. He played football for the Sanford Springvale Youth Athletic Association and for Sanford High School. He played baseball in the Sanford Little League and in the Sanford Babe Ruth League. In his adulthood he became a fan of the New York Yankees and especially enjoyed racing dog sleds with his grandparents. His family described him as very energetic who loved his family, holidays and especially his brother.Survivors include his daughter, Lily Anne Morse of Sanford, his mother Jill A. Brooks and her husband Tom LeBlanc of Sanford, his father Alan B. Johnson and his wife Renee of Acton, his brother Sean Johnson of Sanford, his paternal grandmother Laurette Johnson of Shapleigh, maternal grandmother Joan Chapman and her husband Gary of Corinth, maternal grandfather Richard Brooks and his wife Linda of Sanford, great grandmother Georgia Chapman, grandparents Fred and Gloria LeBlanc, great grandmother Helen Demers, grandparents Jacqualine Levesque and her husband Ethan, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Thursday, January 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Elizabeth A. Keating officiating.
