Clifford Wallace Peterson, 81, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2020. He was born in Columbia Heights, MN, on July 28, 1938 to August Peterson and Sigrid Severson. He was the youngest of 9 children: Erwin (Happy), Gordon (Gordy), Irma (Sally), Robert (Snooks), Lorraine (Pete), Lawrence (Larry/Mann), Willard (Willie), Evelyn (Evie), and Clifford (Tuppence). After graduating from Columbia Heights High School, Cliff traveled often for work. He later became a longtime resident of North Hampton, NH and then resided in West Newfield, ME for the past 30 years. Cliff cherished his grandchildren, enjoyed telling tall tales, sitting by campfires, playing golf, traveling, eating pepperoni pizza, and... searching for the perfect coffee shop.In 1958, Cliff married Patricia Costello and they raised four children: Steven, Sharon, Barbara, and Nancy in North Hampton, NH.Cliff and Carol Madrak Harvey were married in 1985, and together they raised four children: Nathan, Edward (Ned), Jared, and Margaret (Maggie).After graduating high school, Cliff designed computer equipment at Control Data. He lived and worked in many states, ultimately settling in North Hampton, NH in the 70's. Subsequently, he moved to West Newfield, ME and became a successful building contractor of 45 years, doing extensive commercial and residential building and remodeling.He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol, his sister Lorraine and brother Willard, and his many sons and daughters: Steven Peterson and his wife Sue, Sharon Foster, Barbara Peterson and her husband Scott Alexander, Nancy Peterson-Caton and her husband Mike, Nathan Harvey and his wife Christine Fajardo, Edward (Ned) Harvey and his wife Marina, Jared Harvey and his wife Laura, and Margaret (Maggie) Harvey. His beloved grandchildren are: Cory Towne-Kerr, Tess Peterson, Billy Peterson, Kalden Alexander, Shelby Caton, Jackson Caton, Caitlin Harvey, Donovan Harvey, and Eva Harvey. His dear great grandchildren are Oliver and Lucas Kerr.Cliff often said, "We have kids like some people have mice."
