Clarence Lang

Clarence J. Lang, 78, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday March 22, 2009 at the Newton Center in Sanford. He was born in Canada on September 21, 1930, a son of John and Leona (McDonald) Lang. He was raised in Clair, New Brunswick.At a young age he moved to Long Island, New York. On June 27, 1959 he married the former Effie J. Wilson in Long Island. He was a volunteer fireman with the Central Islip Fire Dept., Engine #1 and a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Vinor Construction in 1987 where he had been employed as a carpenter.In 1991 he moved to Sanford. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.He is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Effie J. Lang of Sanford, his children, Priscilla McNally of Belfast, John Lang of New York and Janice Guertin of Springvale, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, Clarina Pinette and Juliette Levesque of Sanford.Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm with a prayer service taking place at 3 pm at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
