Clare Frances Buccigross

CAPE ELIZABETH - Clare Frances Buccigross, 96, of Cape Elizabeth, died August 28, 2014 at Maine Medical Center. She was born May 8, 1918, in Boston, MA, a daughter of James B. and Hazel Scott Freeburn. She was educated in Boston and was a graduate of Newton High School. She attended Lasell Jr, College / Pierce Secretarial School in Boston. She married Joseph J. Buccigross in 1943 and began raising their family. She worked a clerk typist for a law firm. Clare was an active communicant of St. Bartholomew Church. She summered in Cape Elizabeth all her life. In 1976, Clare moved permanently to Cape Elizabeth where she resided until moving to Assisted Living at 75 State Street in 2007. She lived at State Street until her death. She was predeceased by her husband in 1964. Surviving are: a daughter, Joanne Hale of Portland, a son, Col. Paul J. Buccigross, US Army, Ret. Of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters, Florence C. Johnson of Cape Elizabeth, Rita Bernhardt of Falmouth MA; a brother, Robert J. Freeburn of Marco Island, FL; five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. prayers at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew Church, 8 Two Lights Road, Cape Elizabeth.
