Claire C. Morin, 81, of Springvale passed away after a period of declining health on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at The Lodges Care Center in Springvale. Her daughter, Donna and son in law, David as well as special niece, Lorraine were by her side as she drew her last breath. She was born on December 2, 1940, the youngest of six children to Honorat and Regina (Miclette) Cote in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools. Claire was a homemaker and in her earlier years, worked at Brooks Woolen and Romac Orchard's warehouse. Following Ray's retirement from the navy yard, they worked at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport and then they especially enjoyed working summers at Lafayette's Ocean Front Resort in Wells. Claire's husband Raymond was the light of her life and they shared nearly 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2016. For years Claire and Ray spent winters in Myrtle Beach and enjoyed summers in Maine. They eventually retired to Myrtle Beach for 11 years before returning to Maine in 2015. The couple enjoyed traveling and throughout the years vacationed in Hawaii, Aruba and Bermuda. Claire enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, cribbage, going to the beach and attending Sanford Mainer Baseball games. When it came to food, she made sure everyone had enough to eat and then some! She was very close to her sister Bertha. They enjoyed spending mornings together with the McDonald's Gang followed by a walk at Number One Pond. She was a devout Catholic and attended Mass until the pandemic and her decline in health prevented her from returning. Claire was a very kind, gentle and affectionate person who had a special way of connecting with people. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and always looked forward to seeing the great-grandchildren at family gatherings. She is predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate Raymond Morin, brothers Roger Cote, Robert Cote and sister Theresa Cloutier. Survivors include her daughter Donna Ouellette and her husband David, of Sanford, twin grandsons Jacob Ouellette of Springvale and Joshua Ouellette and his wife Sarah, along with their daughter Sadie of Sanford, grandson Kevin Ouellette his wife Erin, along with their children Alexander and Natalie, of Topsham, granddaughter Heidi Gilpatric and her husband Jason, along with their children Abigail and Liam, of Kennebunk, sisters Bertha Lemieux of Sanford and Gertrude Landry and her husband Ray of Beaufort, SC, brother in law Paul Morin of Kennebunk and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 2. Hi Michelle,

It is so very nice to hear from you! Thank you for reaching out and your comments made me smile. Our moms were all about family and simple fun. I too have fond memories of us kids getting together at our family gatherings and having a blast. It was great to see Mark and we shared some heart to heart regarding the the loss of our moms. We talked about how they also shared the same birthday and I will always remember your mom on 12/2 and say a prayer. Love to you and your wonderful family. Donna
