Cindy Terese Bachand passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at peace at home with the support and care of her loving family and Hospice team.
Cindy was the fifth child of 8 born to Lucien and Lillian (Dumont) Couture on August 30, 1957.
Cindy was admired for her uplifting attitude, kindness and compassion, and will always be remembered for her smile. She was loved by all who knew her.
Cindy graduated from Sanford High School and was employed by Sanford Institution for Savings from 1988 to 2004 starting as a Teller advancing to the Assistant VP of Human Resources as Benefits Coordinator.
After leaving banking Cindy started a new adventure, creating Humble Acres Farm at her home. She began raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats which led her to become a breeder after much hard work and apprenticeship. She was proud of her lineage and her goats were blue ribbon champions. Many sought out her expertise and knowledge about animal care.
Her favorite place was her enchanting garden with herbs and flowers. She mastered making goatmilk soaps and salves which were enjoyed by many.
Cindy loved her husband, children and grandchildren beyond words. Her family and friends were her life, as well as her treasured dogs Gunner and Lola and cat Izzy.
She had an outstanding sense of independence, "marching to the beat of her own drum."
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Barbara Ricard.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years Patrick Bachand of Lebanon Maine, son Ryan Lucier and wife Melanie and granddaughter Zoe, daughter Katie Lucier and partner Tim Drum and grandson Gabriel Drum, son Michael Bachand and partner Amy Sinclair of Lebanon Maine, brother Robert Couture, sisters, Patricia Paquin, Anita Merrow, Donna Fournier, Rosalie Marr and Jacqueline Guillemette and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Cindy was the most insightful, empathy and inspiring person i have ever had in my life. She was so spiritual being the Maid, the Mother and Crone all rolled in one. She was one of a kind.
My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathy.
I found out about Cindy leaving us later and was profoundly effected by her passing. No I did not get to say goodbye but she knew I loved her and Katie and Ryan too. Rest in peace dear friend. All is well. Love Susan
