Christopher R. Moss
September 24, 1988 ~ July 4, 2025
Born in: Waterbury, Connecticut
Resided in: Acton, Maine
Christopher R. Moss, 36, of Acton, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Born on September 24, 1988, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Chris was the son of Walter and Denise (Pronovost) Moss. His family relocated to Maine when he was a young boy, and he attended schools in Acton and Wells, where he played football, baseball, and soccer.
Chris was a true “Jack of all trades,” working primarily in construction throughout his life.
An avid outdoorsman, Chris spent many hours in the woods and on the water—especially alongside his father. He loved fishing, hunting and riding ATVs. He could often be found around Wilson and Horn Pond. Nature was his comfort zone.
Being a sports fan, Chris especially enjoyed watching football and was known for his playful loyalty to the Red Sox—even though he was raised a Yankees fan. He loved to laugh, joke around, and prank those he loved, always bringing a sense of humor and lightheartedness.
More than anything, Chris cherished his time with family. He was lovingly known as “Uncle” to his nieces and nephews, and his bond with his father, who called him “Buck,” was especially strong. He also shared a uniquely close connection with his mother, Denise, who was his biggest fan, supporter, and constant source of love.
Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, George “Poppy” and Helen “Mama” Pronovost, and Walter and Grace “Nana” Moss.
He is survived by his loving parents, Walter and Denise Moss of Acton; two sisters, Jennifer Swain and her husband Bob of Wells with their children Logan, Gemma, Lena, Everly, and Lisa Long and her husband Brian of Acton with their children Addison and Blake, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Chris will be remembered for his heart, his wit, and his love for the people around him.
At the family’s request there will be no services.
Chris you will always be remembered. Rest in peace 🙏
