Westbrook - Christopher J. Foley, 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 28, 2018. Chris was born in Portland on February 26, 1957, the son of the late John M. and Dorothy (Regan) Foley. Chris attended St. Dominic's Grammar School and became an altar server for many years. After he graduated from Portland High School, he worked at several jobs serving the public. During his career he worked for Maine Medical Center, Esposito's Restaurant (where he acquired the name "Rocket"), Hannaford Brothers Warehouse, the Full Belly Deli, and RTP. Chris was devoted to his faith and his family. For several years he assisted his friends in collecting donations for food baskets and then distributed them to families in need during the holidays. He brought food baskets to the Sisters of the Precious Blood on holidays, carrying on a tradition that his father John began years beforehand. He also helped others by driving them to appointments -as far away as Boston. Chris enjoyed bringing joy to many children at Christmas with his visits as Santa. He spent many happy times at his family's cottage at Higgins Beach. Chris would often take rides to the beach and enjoyed cookouts where family and friends gathered. Chris had a special connection to his cousin Julie whom he spoke to often and liked talking about family ancestry. Chris is predeceased by his sister Kathy and his brother Daniel. He is survived by his brothers, John, Jr. (wife Joan) and Paul (wife Mary Ann), two nieces Tara Canwell (husband Tom) and Tasha Deschambault , and two great nephews Rocco and Nicholas Deschambault. Chris will be greatly missed by his family and many friends whose lives he touched. Visiting Hours celebrating Chris' life will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10:15AM followed by an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue, Portland.
