Christine M. Hau, 57, of South Portland, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025.
Born on February 19, 1968, in Portland to James and Beverly Oliver, Christine was known for her love of the outdoors, her strength of spirit, and her unmistakable, contagious laugh.
A proud graduate of Portland High School and Southern Maine Community College, Christine went on to earn her CNA certification and spent most of her career as a dedicated certified nursing assistant. Her compassion, hard work, and dedication to those she cared for left a lasting impact. Christine retired just a few years ago, leaving behind a legacy of service and care.
Christine shared 36 years and 28 years of marriage with the love of her life, Kevin Hau. Together, they raised two sons, Christopher and Connor.
She was happiest outside—hiking, riding her three-wheeler, or camping in Canada at the family camp. Whether on the trail or around a campfire, Christine’s energy and laugh brought people together. Christine was strong-willed and unafraid to speak her mind—a trait she proudly inherited from her father. You always knew where you stood with her, and those who knew her loved her all the more for it.
She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Greg. She is survived by her husband, Kevin; beloved sons, Christopher and Connor; her brother, James; her niece, Cheryll Ann; her sisters-in-law, Janice and Laurie; and her dear friends, Donna and Deena, who were like family. Lastly, Christine leaves behind her constant loyal companion, her dog, Pal.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 16 at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland, 172 State Street. Family and friends are invited to come share memories and celebrate Christine’s life.
