Charles R. Morris
With great sadness, the family of Charles R. Morris announces his passing on July 25, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.Born in Biddeford, Maine on June 1st, 1932 to Charles E. Morris and Elsie M. Clegg Morris, he was the youngest of five children, graduating from Biddeford High school class of 1950, and then working as a plumber for many years.He then went on to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a pipe fitter, working his way up to Head of Shop 56. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, raising fish, and avidly watching sports. He was known in Wells as the creator of the Pumpkin Man.Charles was predeceased by his parents, his wife Lurlene, son Daniel, daughter Gail Smith, sisters Barbara Lord and Lucille Mistos Anderson, and by his beloved dog Nikki. He is survived by sisters Mildred Forster and Charline Deshaies McFarland, his son Steven and wife Louise, son Charles and fiance Susan, daughters Kathleen Schindler, Barbara Cunningaham and husband David, Liana Morris, Constance webber and husband Russell, and son in law Leslie E. Smith Jr., as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
