Cecile G. Morin
Cecile G. Morin, 88, a lifelong resident of Sanford, died Sunday at the Newton Center in Sanford after a brief illness.She was born in Sanford on November 8, 1924, the daughter of Augure and Anastasia (Bougie) Fournier and attended school in Sanford.Cecile enjoyed the company of family, friends and visitors. Described as witty and spirited, she was a kind and caring person who always put others first.A religious woman, she was a longtime communicant of St. Ignatius Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann.She enjoyed bowling and made many friends in her bowling league. Cecile enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning. She was also an avid Bingo player.Cecile and her husband of 61 years Adrien A. Morin enjoyed their daily walks together. Adrien passed away in 2009.Survivors include her son Armand E. Morin and his wife Denise of Manchester, NH, daughter Emily Kennedy and her husband Tom of Andover, NH, daughter Ann Marie Duchette of Lebanon, sister Jeannette LeBlanc of Portland, brother Albert Fournier and his wife Lea of Sanford, brother Henry Fournier and his wife Lorette of So. Berwick, and grandchildren Tim Kennedy, his wife Kim and their daughter Ella of Dover, NH, Sean Kennedy and his wife Rebecca of Claremont, NH, Ryan Morin, his wife Nancy and their children Olivia and Elliott of Goffstown, NH, Erin Morin of Marlborough, NH and Dustin Duchette, his wife Kady and their daughter Morgan of Davenport, FL.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, 66 North Avenue, Sanford. Burial will follow in the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.Cecile's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Newton Center for the exceptional care given to Memere and to them during her years residing there.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
