Cecile L. Frechette, 89, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, October 4th at the Pinnacle and North Berwick. Faith, family and friends were the most important things in her life. Cecile was born in Sanford on August 27, 1933, the daughter of Leon and Marie-Jeanne (Blouin) Lefebvre. She attended St. Ignatius School and graduated then attended St. Joseph Academy in South Berwick. In 1949 she married Raymond G. Frechette and together they raised two children and shared nearly 70 years of marriage until his death in 2019. Cecile was a missionary without leaving her own parish. She served as a Eucharistic minister to the sick and homebound in her parish for 28 years. She was also active in Maryknoll missionary work and the African mission, a member of the Marion Movement of Priests, the Cursillo Movement and a former member of the St. Ignatius Parish choir. She loved music and had been a member of the Maine Country Music Association, The NARF Association, AARP, Union St. Jean Baptiste and a board member of Sanford Housing for the Elderly and Handicapped. During her working life, Cecile was employed at the Jagger Mills, South Berwick and Sanford Shoes and finally for Sprague Electric where she worked for 21 years until her retirement in 1987. Cecile lived her life and loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-great grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Cecile was predeceased by her husband, Raymond G. Frechette. Surviving are two children, Rachel Hatch and her husband Michael and John Frechette and his wife Sandra; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford from 9:30 to 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.

  4. Cecile was my first lady every Wed..at the hair salon in Pinnacle for the past 5 years… we became friends…I enjoyed our visit every week. I Also took care of her beloved Ray… I will miss her…
