Yarmouth - Catherine A. Ferretti, aged 93, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, at her home. She was born on December 11, 1930, in Guttenberg, NJ, the daughter of the late Dominic and Jennifer Galietti. Catherine spent her formative years in Guttenberg, where she attended local schools and graduated from Weehawken High School in 1947.
Following her graduation, Catherine pursued higher education and obtained a degree from Tableau School in New York. She embarked on a successful career as a bank manager, demonstrating dedication and proficiency in her work.
Catherine married the love of her life, Michael, in 1956 and together they moved to the suburbs to raise their two children, David and Judiann in Demarest, NJ.
After Michael's passing in 1987, Catherine moved to Maine to be closer to her grandchildren. She was a faithful parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church of Yarmouth, where she enjoyed helping with their annual Christmas Fair, finding solace and community in her faith. Catherine was an independent woman who took pleasure in the simple joys of life. She enjoyed cooking, spending time at home, and cherishing moments with her grandchildren.
Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Ferretti; her son, David Ferretti; her brother, Joseph Galietti; and her cousin, Katherine DeChiccio. She is survived by her daughter, Judiann Ferretti Smith and her husband, Gary, of Yarmouth; as well as her three cherished grandchildren, Michael, Abigail, and Lindsey Smith.
May she rest in peace, reunited with her loved ones.
An 11am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 26th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 326 Main St, Yarmouth, ME. A private burial will be held at George Washington, Paramus, New Jersey. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland. My sincere condolences to her family. Cathy loved her daughter and grandchildren, they were her heart. She also loved her Church family and all the good friends that God blessed her with. She was a gentle soul who loved her family and friends, and also loved God. Her faith was very important to her.
We shared the same birthday.
We were neighbors and became friends.
