Carole M. Sumner

"Cookie" Carole Marianne Sumner, 60, of North Berwick, Maine, passed away on January 23, 2008 at her home in North Berwick. Born on February 23, 1947 in Montague City, MA, Carole was a daughter of William and Elinore Peloskey. Carole graduated from Greenfield High School class of 1965.She was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux- Holy Family Church and was a past member of the choir. She was active in several local groups including the Sanford Elk's Lodge, Sanford Emblem Club and the Wolf's Club. She also enjoyed the beach, cruising in her convertible, kayaking, Harley riding with her husband, going to the Caribbean and Jimmy Buffet. She had been formerly employed as an X-ray technician at the Portsmouth Hospital, as well as Wal-Mart and finally at Hussey Seating.Anyone that ever met Cookie will say that her energy lit up the room she was in, that her smile brought a smile to your own face. Her laughter was contagious and large enough to fill an entire room. She was outspoken and never let a moment slip by where she could fill you with warmth from a comment or a tease. She will be sadly missed by everyone that she ever touched in her life.Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 36 years, Ronald Sumner of North Berwick, ME, daughter, Mandy and her husband, David Scharfen of Las Vegas, Nevada, son, Eben Sumner of North Berwick, ME, a sister, Janis and her husband, Ed Bullock of Slana, Alaska, her parents, William and Elinore Peloskey of Greenfield, MA, a brother in law, Richard Sumner of Welaka, FL, and sister in law, Cynthia Clark and her husband, Leonard of Irving, MA.Visiting hours for Cookie will be held on Friday, January 25 from 6 to 8pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale, Maine.
