Carol M. McDonald

Carol M. McDonald, 72 of Sanford, passed away Sunday January 24, 2013, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born in Sanford on March 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Dana and Clara (Edwards) Merrifield.Carol graduated from Sanford High School in 1958. She later had a career as a bookkeeper and spent many years working for a non-profit organization.In retirement she enjoyed volunteering for the Historical Museum, painting and spending time with her family and friends.Carol is survived by three children, Christine Underwood of Shapleigh ME., Barbara Lovejoy of Turner, Me. and Cynthia Coppola of Lee, NH. as well as three sisters, Cherry Young, Bonnie Dubois, and Kathy Cornish. She also is survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandson.A memorial to celebrate Carol's life will be held at Carll Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street Springvale, Maine on Saturday March 2nd (her birthday) from 2pm to 4 pm and directly after at the Weathervane Restaurant for a reception.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
