Celebrating the passage of Carla Johnson who died September 16th. Carla was a beautiful fairy like soul who devoted her life to healing people. She was a counselor who served our community for almost forty years. Carla had a gift for gardening, the woods, dancing and laughter. Her radiance upon entering any space caused eyes to turn and smiles appeared everywhere. Her soul is resting with the Angels and she will always be present in healing and creating communities of healing with love for people. Her love for family and friends was authentic and transparent. Let us all remember what she was and celebrate her Spirit with tenderness, Love and kindness. Look to the sky or in the Woods to see and feel her smiling at you. Blessings. - Joe

I have been a friend to Carla since we worked together at the UNE Portland campus several years ago. She was in charge of the Counseling Center when we were first introduced. She was a bright and beautiful person, who was always concerned with the welfare of others. Carla was always dedicated to helping people, and sharing her gifts. She loved taking walks in Evergreen Cemetery and being in nature. She loved her family and friends, and always treated people with kindness. Carla was full of grace and has a beautiful soul, and I will miss her terribly.
Carla’s Magical Garden will forever remind us of her joyful nature.
I met Carla when we both were working on the Portland UNE campus. She really was a sweet soul and always had a smile. I also knew Joe too. They both are special people and I will always associate them with my time at UNE. A big hug to Joe. Vicki Walker
