Brian A. Ross, 60, died suddenly on September 21, 2017. Brian was born in Sanford, Maine on July 7, 1957. He was the son of the Honorable (Judge) Ralph H. Ross and Mary Irene (Johnson) Ross. A graduate of the Sanford High School class of 1975. Brian was an employee for the Maine Turnpike Authority for 40 as a Toll Collector and then as a Supervisor for both the Biddeford And York Tolls. In years past He also worked part-time for Hannaford, was an Emergency Medical Technician, and he moonlighted as a Disc Jockey (DJ) spinning records.Brian married the woman he always called "the love of his life," Laurie (Dureau) on September 27, 1997. Together, they blended their families: his two sons Matthew and Stephen and her two daughters, Kelly and Renee. The love for his family always shined through.Brian had a zest for life. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved being a Bumpa. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling; traveling with his wife; spending time with friends; walking with his friend, Jerry; watching HGTV & Food Network; and his famous "Board Meetings" at the Springvale Publick House on Friday afternoons.Strangers were truly friends Brian hadn't met yet. In an instant, he stole their hearts. Strangers became friends and friends became family. Brian was someone you could count on, always willing to help anyone with anything they needed, and he did it with a smile.Brian will be remembered for his positive attitude; infectious smile; loud voice; big heart; being incredibly kind and generous; giving the best bear hugs; and being the life of any party. Brian is survived by his loving wife of twenty years Laurie, his children: Matthew Ross and Stephen Ross; Kelly Lane and her husband Philip; Renee Dubois; and his beloved grandchildren: Avery, Evynne and Lawson. He also leaves behind his siblings: Susan Richey and her husband Donny; Jeff and his wife Liz; Deborah Brook and her husband Scott; Timothy and his wife Kim; and several nieces and nephews.Brian was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Old Catholic Church in Wells, Maine. To celebrate Brian and the way he lived his life, the family asks you to perform a random act of kindness in his honor. Visiting hours for Brian will be on Thursday from 4 to 7PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
