SANFORD—Brenda Lee Sawyer, 66, of Sanford, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her familyon Monday May 8, 2023.
She was born in Barnstead, New Hampshire July 20, 1956 the daughter of Kenneth and Joan (Danis)Sawyer. She grew up in the Barnstead area and worked in the family businesses, including Danis Supermarket. Brenda was the oldest of many siblings, Patricia, Skip, Thomas, and Judith. She alsoworked as a stitcher and a paramedic while her children were growing after moving to North BerwickMaine with her long-time companion, Richard Gaudreault in 1978. She worked at Hussey Seating for 16
years, retiring as a supervisor.
Brenda enjoyed sewing and upholstering as well as cooking and gardening in her spare time.
Brenda is survived by her companion, Richard; her children, Amanda Sawyer, Angela Sawyer, Phillip Sawyer, Corey Sawyer, her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Sawyer, and great granddaughter Shirley Lank. Also, her step children Corrina, Renee, and Corrina’s husband Scott.
Brenda was a woman selfless and strong, a woman that was bright, kind, and could always find light in the darkness. She taught her children how to persevere and find their paths no matter the obstacles that may come their way. “Where there is a will there is a way.” She had a way of creating “magic” out of the most simple things in life. Though we must say goodbye, her memory will live on long and strong, never forgotten.
There will not be any services at this time. A celebration and gathering will be held at a later date in her home town in New Hampshire.
She was the worlds best grandmother💕
She was OBSESSED with frogs 🐸
Kind, compassionate, caring, loving and strong willed.
I know Brenda through her son Phil. Whenever I would be on a skype call with Phil I would always say Hi to mom, I was looking forward to meeting her one day since she had become a bonus mom to me. If I needed advice I know she’d be there to walk me through. She even gave me cooking tips. She will forever be an amazing woman no matter where she goes, and hopefully one day when its my time I will finally get to meet her after all.
I met Brenda through a family member. Then we started hanging out I would help Brenda with her chores at Danis market. She used to come to my house often . Loved her Sharon ( Bousquet) Adams
I’m so sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing…we were in school together in 5th grade and then in 8th through high school. She was a kind sweet friend and I will not ever forget her. Please accept my condolences. Sue
