Beverly L. Delano, 75, of Sanford, Maine, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018 in the care of her loving family and dog Cuddles. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 12, 1943 a daughter of the late Frederick and Eleanor (Morris) Andersen. She lived a life of service to others.Beverly's greatest love was family. She celebrated 57 years of marriage with her husband Carl and together they raised 6 children, were blessed with 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Days were filled with special family times and loved ones.She served as a caregiver to others through various organizations in Southern Maine: York Hospital, Visiting Nursing Services, Hospice and private home health care. Her devotion to others brought comfort to many, including family and friend's.Beverly furthered her service to others through her involvement with the Sanford First Baptist Church as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Group Leader, Teen Mission Group Coordinator as well as visiting and providing communion to shut-ins. She was also involved in the launch of young life, a teen outreach program in Southern Maine where she served on the steering committee.Beverly was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Carl Delano Jr., children, Carl Delano III and wife, Johna, Denise Chase and husband, Mike, Rhonda Burke, Terrie Killman and husband Joe, Steve and partner Kathy, Beth and partner Steve. Grammie/great gram will forever be cherished by her 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, as well as her sister Beadie, several nieces and nephews and special friend Helen Brown.A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 1st at 3PM at the Sanford First Baptist Church, 905 Main Street, Sanford, Maine.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project.
