Betty E. Peavey

Betty E. Peavey, 63, of Shapleigh, and formerly of Columbia, CT, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born in Paradise, California on March 21, 1949 a daughter of the late Terrell Sr., and Helen Estes.In 1993 she retired from Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Ct., after 21 years of service with the company. After retirement she became a sewing instructor, a hobby she had taken up as a young girl.In 2005 she moved to Maine and was an active member of the Acton Congregational Church.She is predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Jeanette and Caroline.She is survived by her husband, Michael D. Peavey of Shapleigh, children, Robert C. Keenan of Burlington, CT, Heather M. Pisapia of Everett, MA, Kathleen P. Nye of North Windham, CT, grandchildren, Bryant Goss, Alyssa Bull, Hailey Cerasoli, Ava Pisapia, Jordan Nye, Jared Nye, Jacob Kandolin, brothers, Terrell Estes Jr., Jimmy Estes, sister, Susan Estes.A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 5PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
