Boylston, MA/Scarborough, ME- Betty P. "Pat" Guibord, 83, of Mulberry Lane passed peacefully on December 10, 2021 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her loving family by her side. Pat was born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Terence P. and Cecelia M. (Rooney) McKiernan. Her family moved to Worcester, MA when she was a young child. She attended Worcester schools and graduated from St. Peter's High School of Worcester in 1956. On June 26, 1965, she married the love of her life, Ronald D. Guibord, at St. Margaret Mary Church in Worcester, MA. Together they made their home and raised their family in Boylston, MA. Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald D. Guibord of Scarborough; two sons, Ronald S. Guibord and his wife Maurissa of Scarborough, and Michael J. Guibord and his wife Kristin of North Yarmouth; five grandchildren, 2Lt. Luke Guibord, US Army, of KS, Genevieve Guibord and Danielle Guibord of Scarborough, and Orion Guibord and Jonah Guibord of North Yarmouth; a sister Eileen and her husband Kevin Keaney of MA; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen Collins and Maureen Lacombe, and her very special aunt and uncle, Betty and Arthur Deschenes Pat worked hard at home, raising her family and caring for family members. When her sons were both in school, she started to work at Refco Inc. in Boylston as a salesperson, where she was employed for more than 20 years. In 2016, Pat and Ron moved to Scarborough to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved doing ceramics, crocheting, baking, and doing crafts. She loved traveling and she and Ron took several cruises to the Caribbean, journeyed to Ireland and England, and enjoyed many winters on Ponce Inlet Beach in Florida. Her family was Pat's focus and she always made sure holidays and birthdays were special occasions for everyone. Along with her sisters, she cared for both of her parents in their later years. Then, she had a very active role in caring for her grandchildren. Pat will be remembered as a loving, compassionate, and extremely caring person with a great wit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough, ME. Burial will be private.
