Bertha Salls Ring
Bertha Salls Ring, 76, of Springvale, formerly of West Paris, died peacefully at home on December 31 surrounded by her family.Bertha was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on February 1, 1936, the daughter of Gerald and Helen (Brock) Knapp. She moved to Maine where she worked in several capacities including driving a bus which she thoroughly enjoyed.Bertha enjoyed bird watching, her cats, watching old spaghetti westerns, Nascar, and listening to country music. She also had an extensive collection of teddy bears. A Yankee in every sense of the word, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife and sister who will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.She was predeceased by a son, Richard Salls of Ocala, FL.Survivors include her sister Geraldine Pray and her husband Victor of Mechanic Falls, twelve children, Irene Macie and her husband Wayne of Ocala, FL, Kenny Salls and his wife Kathy of Mechanic Falls, Jenny Jacobsen and her husband Sonny of So. Paris, Robert Salls of Biddeford, Christine Morrison and her husband Dave of Shapleigh, Kathy Haley and her fiance Wyatt Andrews of Waterford, Elwin Salls, Jr. and his wife Robyn of So. Paris, Donald Salls and his wife Marge of Bridgton, Michael Salls and his wife Lois of Otisfield, Gordon Salls and his wife Theresa of Springvale, Melissa Heath of W. Paris, 32 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.A celebration of Bertha's life will take place on Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 PM at the Oxford Advent Christian Church, 1130 Main Street in Oxford.
