Bernice Deschenes

Bernice Theresa Deschenes, 67, of Sanford, passed away on July 18, 2017 at Hillcrest Gardens in Sanford following a lengthy illness.Bernice was born on April 1, 1950 in Fort Kent to Emma Charette Roy and Anthony Roy. Her mother passed away when she was three days old and she was raised by her Aunt Leah Charette Daigle and Uncle Leo Paul Daigle who she knew as her parents. She attended school in Fort Kent and relocated to Sanford in 1971.Bernice was a very lovable person. She was a hard worker and loved to be around her family and friends. She was also a strong minded person and had no issue stating how she felt to anyone, anywhere. She will be dearly missed.Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Ducharme of Shapleigh and Tammy Houle of Weare, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Kevin Graffam of Dayton, Casey Brennan of Weare, New Hampshire; Nicholas Ducharme of Shapleigh and Joshua Ducharme of Shapleigh; five great-grandchildren, Caiden Brown of Weare, New Hampshire, Emma, Wesley, Colton and Noah Graffam of Dayton; four sisters, Mona, Verna, Norma and Rena and one brother, Roger. Bernice also had two great friends that she spoke of and loved dearly that helped her very much, Ricky and Sue.At Bernice's request there will be no formal services.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
