Bernadette T. MacGregor

Bernadette T. "Betty" MacGregor, 87, of Maplewood and most recently of Alfred, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. MacGregor was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 5, 1919 to James and Mary Collins Merrill. She was a graduate of Winthrop High School in Winthrop, MA. In 1940, she married John W. Macgregor, Sr. and moved to Maine shortly thereafter. Bernadette was a very spunky lady. She was a very outgoing and friendly person with many friends. Bernadette was a very devoted wife and mother. She was an excellent cook and took pride in preparing wonderful meals for her family, especially for holidays and special occasions.Her husband, John W. MacGregor, Sr, predeceased Bernadette.Surviving are two sons, John MacGregor, Jr. of Sebago and James "Skip" MacGregor and his wife Anita of Parsonsfield; a daughter, Kathy Gerry and her husband Bernie of Limerick; a sister, Eileen Mortimer of South Hamilton, MA; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and her extended family at Hazel Dell.A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Kennebunk Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, Old Holland Rd., W.
