Beatrice Calvo Crozier

FALMOUTH - Beatrice Calvo Crozier, 81, of Leesburg, VA, formerly of Falmouth and Freeport, died peacefully May 2, 2014 in Leesburg, VA. She was born November 13, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Jose Martin and Beatrice Agnes Betancourt Calvo. Beatrice was educated in New York and Rhode Island, attending the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Elmhurst. She went on to Brown University (Pembroke College) in Providence, Rhode Island, graduating in 1954. Beatrice married Francis J. Crozier on November 28, 1959 and began raising her family. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Portland. For many years, she was a communicant of St. Jude's Church, Freeport. Beatrice was active in a number of community organizations and was a volunteer at Mid-Coast Hospital, Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband in December 2009. Surviving are: a daughter, Beatrice B. C. Cobb of South Riding, VA; sons, Francis J. Crozier, II of Taylors, South Carolina, Christopher Crozier of London, England; six grandchildren, sisters Virginia I. Calvo, of Wells, ME, Cait Calvo, of Pawtucket, RI, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6th at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7th at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 673 Stevens Avenue, Portland. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
