						Barry S. Aldrich, 75, of Bath passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2019. He was born in Sanford on August 18, 1943 the son of Dale and Shirley (Demelle) Aldrich where he grew up and attended local schools.He was employed at General Dynamics for several years. Some of his other jobs include driving truck for Mayflower and driving taxi cabs. He also was a crossing guard for a number of years for the city of Portland.Barry was very devoted to his wife Vivian and cared for her for years through a long illness.He was a collector of baseball cards, Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies and comic books. He enjoyed doing puzzles and playing cards, especially cribbage. In years past, Barry was an avid fisherman. He was also a fan of New England sports teams, who might be observed hollering his pleasure (or displeasure) at the television.He was a resilient man, who was a pillar of strength during difficult times. He was caring, had a great sense of humor, was witty and a bit of a "lady's man."He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Andrew Aldrich and a grandson Elijah.Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Vivian Aldrich, his children Randy Aldrich, Baron Aldrich, Alden Aldrich, Andrea Colon, Alexandrea Aldrich, Nickolas Aldrich and Aaron Aldrich, and his grandchildren, Randijah, Aaliyah, Callie, Amelia, Adric, Emma-Jane, Cadence, Lila and Ella Mae.Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
