SANFORD—Barbara Moore, 86, of Sanford, passed away peacefully at her home on December 31, 2024 following a brief illness.
She was born in Falls Church, Virginia March 29, 1938, the daughter of Harvey and Effie (Browne) Turner.
Barbara met and married the love of her life, Gene Moore, in 1958 and moved to Conway, New Hampshire in 1969 just in time to welcome their third child. They had celebrated their 64th anniversary just prior to Gen’s death in November of 2022.
She enjoyed crafting of all kinds and often taught classes in making porcelain dolls. Lately, she enjoyed crocheting colorful and unique Christmas ornaments, coloring, embroidery and quilting. She leaves a lot of her unique projects to her family to enjoy for years to come.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her three children, Larry and wife Wanda, Elaine and husband Anthony and Terri and husband Tim; her sister Pat Goben of Pipe Creek, TX; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her oldest great-granddaughter Nevaeh and her bestie Valerie Douglas.
Barbara was an animal lover and would prefer, in lieu of flowers, a donation in her name be made to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter in Fryeburg, Maine.
