Barbara Louise (Ward) L'Heureux, 94, of Springvale, died Friday, October 22, 2021 at St. Andre Health Care surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 30, 1927 in Rochester, NH. The daughter of Charles and Lovisia (Garland) Ward. Barbara was a woman of elegance and style who took pride in her appearance. Everything from her well-manicured fingernails to her hair and many hats to match. Her love of people, her sense of humor, wonderful inviting smile, kind and compassionate heart were her most outstanding attributes. Her family, husband and children were her world. Barbara worked many years in several shoe shops including The Hubbard Shoe Co. in Rochester, NH and at the Nike Inc. factory in Saco, ME until the time she retired to take care of her ailing father. She also continued to be a homemaker, caring for her children and her husband. She took pride in a well-kept house where she ran a tight ship. Barbara was a spiritual individual and a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Springvale, ME. She loved to have fun, laugh, and be around people. She loved playing bingo, going to the casino occasionally, play cards, music, dancing and eating peanut butter fudge. In her younger days, she and her late husband would knock their shoes off on the dance floor, dancing perfectly in time with each other as the band played on. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Henry G. L'Heureux, her parents and her sister Nancy Lee LaDuke. She is survived by her son Daniel L'Heureux and his wife Lynn of Flagler Beach, FL., daughter Karol L'Heureux and her partner Donna Bisson of Biddeford, ME., her two brothers Frank Ward of Florida, and Donald Ward and his wife Dottie of New Hampshire. Her grandson Peter L'Heureux and his partner Nicole Rioux of Auburn, ME, Step-grandsons Adam Dorman and his wife Jenn, Ryan Dorman and his partner Erica Bisson, Scott Desgrosseilliers and his wife Melissa, and Andrew Desgrosseilliers with his wife Jimena. Great grandchildren Isaha, Trenton, Gia, Amora, and several step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30AM at St. Therese of Lisieux parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale, ME. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford, ME.   3. Barbara loved her Henry and so many family and friends. We will always remember Barbara as a mild mannered person with high integrity always trustworthy, honest and kind. Many fun times were spent with her chatting about lives pleasures, Our family will miss her presence but we also are relieved that her suffering was short and now she is a peace with so many that went before her, especially her Henry.
