PORTLAND Barbara J. (Dyer) Greeley, 81, formerly of Stevens Ave., died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Monarch Center in Saco. Born in Portland on June 24, 1934, Barbara was the daughter of the late Sumner and Lenora (Collins) Dyer. She graduated from Deering High School class of 1952, and attended Casco Bay College and Westbrook College. Barbara married Martin J. Greeley on July 3, 1954. Together, they made their home on Stevens Avenue where they raised 6 children. Barbara was employed as a Commercial Loan Officer with Peoples Heritage Bank in Portland for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. She was a longtime communicant and of St. Patricks Church where she was a member of the church choir. She wasa member of the Red Hat Society, andsecretary of the Irish American Club. Above all else, Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and nana. Her greatest joys in life were when she was spending time with her family. Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband of 32 years, Martin J. Greeley and her sister, Arlene Baker. She is survived by her loving children, Martin T. Greeley and wife Ellen of Goffstown, NH, Joseph Greeley and wife Jennifer Zorn of South Portland, Kathryn Prescott and husband Paul of Frederick, MD, Dan Greeley of Cumberland, Theresa Greeley of Dayton, and Michael Greeley and wife Susan of Salem, NH. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and brothers Ronald C. Dyer and wife Kathy of Gray, and David Dyer of Gray. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4-7PM at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 8:15AM followed by a 9AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland.
