Barbara C. Carlberg
Barbara C. Carlberg, 87, of Shapleigh, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born on January 20, 1930, to Fred and Ida Clough in Nashua, NH, where she grew up and attended local schools. She attended nursing school in Virginia, and upon returning to New England she met and married William Carlberg. Together they raised 4 children, three daughters and a son.Barbara was a caring and loving woman. She enjoyed her nursing career and had a special passion for caring for the elderly. As family members and friends began to age and need care, she was always there to offer her skills and compassion.Being an animal lover, she had 4 dogs and 2 cats, and considered them her "babies". She was a member of the Lions Club and was involved in the activities they held. She was also a member of the Shapleigh Corner Baptist Church and was very involved there.Mostly, she was a quiet person, who loved and cared for her family by cooking excellent food for and spending time with them at their home on Square Pond. She was loved and cherished, and will be dearly missed.She is predeceased by her husband who passed away in 2002, a daughter, Diane Carlberg, and a sister Libby Turner.Suriviors include daughters, Judith Carlberg, of Shapleigh, and Barbara Buslovich and husband Steve of North Carolina, a son Kenneth Carlberg, of Shapleigh, three grandsons, David Buslovich of Rochester, NH, Christopher Buslovich and his wife Becca of North Carolina, and Stephen Buslovich of Rochester, NH, and four great grandsons, Zachary ,Christopher, Evan, and Wyatt, and a sister, Ardyth Heath and her husand Bruce of Perry, GA.Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
