Arthur J. Tremblay, 84, of Sanford, died January 5 in Sanford after a lengthy illness.He was born in Newport, NH on May 13, 1920, the son of Alphonse J. and Myrtle (Waterman) Tremblay. He attended the former St. Matthew's School in Somersworth, NH.He was an army veteran or World War II.Mr. Tremblay was employed for 30 years with the former Allied Novelty Shoe company and retired from Harris Graphics in Dover, NH. He had also been employed for 3 years at St. Thomas School in Sanford.He was a communicant of Holy Family Church.Mr. Tremblay was a former member of the Lafayette Social Club, the Springvale Social Club and the Sanford Elks Lodge.Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lillian (Roux) Tremblay of Sanford, a son Ronald Tremblay and his wife Michelle of Sanford, a daughter, Rose Ann Camire and her husband James of Sanford, 2 sisters, Lillian Chenard and Theresa Crowley, both of Dover, NH, grandchildren and great grandchildren Christine Caramihalis, her husband Andrew and their children Colton and Marina of No. Berwick, Mark Camire, his wife Cheryl and their children Ryan, Summer and Brooke of Acton, Brian Camire, his wife Tiffany and their children Evan and Katherine of Acton, Karen Allen, her husband Robert and their children Joshua and Julia of Sanford, Aaron Tremblay his wife Nichole and their children Jordan, Brendon and Kayla of Sanford, and Jason Tremblay, his wife Corinna and their children Zachery and Isabella of Sanford.Visiting hours will be on Monday at 11 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1:00 PM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.The family wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the staffs of the Greenwood Center and the H.D. Goodall Hospital for the loving care and concern shown to Arthur through his illness.Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart League, 6050 Highway 61 N, Walls, MS 38686.
