Arthur Paul McGinn

Arthur Paul McGinn, 82, of Sanford, died on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mr. McGinn was born in Biddeford, ME on February 19, 1931 to Arthur P. and Clara (Driscoll) McGinn. He was educated in Sanford and was a 1949 graduate of Sanford High School. He studied at St. Anslem College in Manchester, NH where he received his bachelor's degree in 1953.Mr. McGinn was affiliated with the former Provident Institution for Savings and Shawmut Banks in Boston, MA for 32 years, retiring as bank manager in 1993. Following his return to Sanford he was an active member of the YMCA where he had served on the Board of Directors. He was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Sanford-Springvale.Surviving are his brother, John C. McGinn of Jupiter, FL; two nephews, Christopher McGinn of Brunswick, ME and Dr. Cornelius J. McGinn of Cape Elizabeth, ME; a niece, Giselle Linn of Hampden, ME and several grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 16th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 17th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford, ME.
