arthur larochelle
Portland-Arthur La Rochelle Born May 14th, 1935 Died June 14th, 2015 Born in Scarborough, son of Daniel and Eva LaRochelle, Arthur LaRochelle passed away peacefully on June 14th. A long-time resident of Portland and South Portland, he is survived by his wife of 58 years Joanne Malloy LaRochelle. Children David, Richard, Michael, Mary, Pam, Peter, and Daniel. Brothers and Sisters Elsie, Daniel, Keith, and Edith. Grandchildren Luke, Eric, Ali, Amanda, Shereen, Nick, Jake, Kara, Sam, and Lillian. Great-Grandchildren Fiona, Henry, and Grace. In his later years Arthur was very dedicated to his grandchildren. A Letter From Your Grandchildren Dear Papa, You are the kindest man we have ever known. You gave us seven great people for parents, aunts, and uncles David, Richard, Michael, Mary, Pam, Peter, and Dan. You took care of us, you taught us right from wrong, that honesty is important, and we are only as good as our word. You showed us that hard work is a decent way to make a living just as you did in your years as a driver for Yankee Distributors and then as a Metro mechanic. Your muscular dystrophy challenged you, but in our eyes you won. You never lost your spirit and your mind stayed sharp as a tack, you never missed a beat. You taught us to question authority - but not yours! Taught us to get involved in our community, keep up with the news, read up on history, honor our heritage, admire nature, and that family is the most valuable part of life. We promise to take care of Nanny and one another. Capisce? Love always, Luke, Eric, Ali, Amanda, Shereen, Nick, Kara Lee, Jake, Sam, Lilly, Fiona, Henry, and Grace. Visiting hours will be held at the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, on Wednesday, June 17, from 2 4 pm.
